Detroit in the roaring 1920s was a buzzing hub chock-full of ambition and opportunity. Harry Chernick, one enterprising master plumber with dreams of success, seized that passion to start his own plumbing business: Advance Plumbing & Heating Supply Company. Little did he know this humble beginning would lead him down an incredible path - now 103 years later, four generations have carried on his legacy through a successful family operation still based out of Detroit and a second location in Walled Lake, MI. 

Rebuilding Detroit is a movement determined to revive this great city. It's a spirit of innovation and purpose, with hard work at its core; creating something special in the Motor City requires more than just desire for profit - it calls for commitment and courage as well! There will always be challenges here that need thoughtful solutions, but success can never come without taking risks...and luckily, there are also tons of opportunities if you have vision. The journey doesn't end when one goal is achieved – every step forward brings new lessons along with it.

Our vision of Rebuilding Detroit is to use the power of togetherness to amplify Detroit's small business community. These heroic local businesses go above and beyond, working for a brighter future for everyone in our city - so we created this platform as a way to not only spread awareness about their amazing work but also let others join them in making an impact!
